Dutch architect Ben Van Berkel (born 1957) is the founder and principal of UNStudio. His first big career break came when he won the commission to design Rotterdam's Erasmus Bridge. His other notable work includes the Möbius House in Het Gooi in the Netherlands, the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, Arnhem Central Masterplan, the Singapore University of Technology & Design’s East Coast Campus, and Raffles City in Hangzhou.

In this talk, he begins by tracing the development of the Erasmus Bridge project in Rotterdam, and how it has become a symbol for the city.

In the second part, he discusses one of his most recent projects, the STH BNK By Beulah twin towers in Melbourne, currently under construction and set to become Australia's tallest building.
